2010 Jones Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc

“Though this is only our second vintage of Sauvignon Blanc, we really like the direction this project is headed in. This edition is a lot fresher than the 2009 and it’s true to what we wanted to achieve when we started this project, a more serious Sauvignon Blanc that retains a distinctive sense of place and varietal. With only 25% new oak and 3 fewer months in barrel, the 2010 shows less pronounced oak character right from the start leading with notes of citrus rind, lemongrass and lime blossoms. On the palate, you begin to see how 14 months in oak benefits the wine with a rounder mouthfeel, a minor note of white chocolate, meringue and fresh melon.”
